Following last year’s declines, equity markets rebounded in the first quarter led by large-cap growth stocks. Equities struggled last year primarily due to the velocity of the rise in interest rates. But the banking issues in March ushered in fresh expectations for an end to the Federal Reserve’s tightening cycle, relieving some much-needed pressure from growth stocks. Companies with strong earnings and revenue growth saw a particularly strong bounce back in the first quarter.
