Superficial frictions in US China trade negotiations

Over the week-end, two hostile moves by China were reported. The first was to allow Chinese diplomats to criticize the US on twitter (Twitter is banned in China), the second was to ban foreign computers and software from government. That bodes quite ill for the negotiations that were supposed to be inches apart. The reality is likely more complex as this is partially a retaliation against Huawei. More importantly, China has its own hawkish wing to pander to.
